In an interview (
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/12/obama-transcrip.html) with the Los Angeles Times yesterday, Obama was asked if he had talked to Gov. Blagojevich about his replacement, and he readily said he hadn't talked to the governor. But when asked, if anyone on his staff had talked to the governor, he declined to answer, saying it was an ongoing investigation. If the fact that it was an ongoing investigation was sufficient reason not to answer the question, why did he answer the first question concerning his personal contact with the govenor? In this case, having answered the first question, the refusal to answer the second question is a resounding yes! Apparently, his staff did talk to the govenor. The next real question is did his staff communicate their conversations with the governor to Obama?
